I spent the other evening drawing figures from Stephen Silver's Posebook. Almost like having a model in your own studio!

I am looking forward to seeing the new Disney documentary "Chimpanzee". I did this drawing from one of the photos on the film's imdb page. Brush pen and white pencil.

If you are a fan of Stephen Silver, and have an iPad, you will love the app he has created. It's a series of photos of models in various poses and costumes. It even has a timed function, so you can warm up with some gesture drawings.

Eyes

I thought about titling this post something like "Here's Looking at You, Kid" or "The Eyes Have It". Then I thought I'd spare you the bad puns. Aren't you happy?

Anyway, I ran across these old notes recently. A friend was wanting some reference on drawing eyes, and I had these old Xeroxes buried in a 3-ring binder full of drawing and animation notes.

I honestly don't remember where I picked these up. But I still find them very useful. I hope you do, too. Feel free to pass them around.

Drew this this evening in my sketchbook. Martin Freeman is the perfect choice for Bilbo. I'm really looking forward to the film.

March is Sketchbook Month...Day 31

Might take me awhile to break the daily drawing habit. I might not post every day, but I'll see what I can do.

Here's a sketch from late last night/this morning. My mind was wandering far and wide, and I still don't know the significance of this image.

And this is a birthday postcard I'm mailing off to a friend whose birthday is today. Wizards are never late, but this birthday card will be.
